T.S The Solution
T.S The Solution
T.S (born Devonte Pearson June 29th, 1991 in Long Beach, CA) came along way from writing raps in his school notebooks in elementary. He’s shown progression since dropping out of High School on three different occasions. He exemplifies what it means to make the best out of any situation on a day to day basis. The ability to illustrate such struggles and triumphs as a 24 year old hip hop artist makes T.S not only a rare site to see, but one of the most relatable artists on the scene.
T.S, also known as The Solution, was raised around women and R&B music. Vocals from Mary J. Blige, Jaheim, and R. Kelly were constantly finding a home in a young Devonte’s ears. Though R&B gave T.S the ability to tap into his emotions, young artists like Immature and Lil Bow Wow inspired him to start doing music as a hobby. With the help of his cousin Calvin, who was also an aspiring artist, he began writing and recording songs at the ripe age of 12. With minimal recording knowledge, T.S began recording himself and his friends at home. He soon took on the role as the producer of every group he was apart of and began mixing songs and producing his own beats.
In 2011 T.S was one half of the rap duo Kaotic-Solutions. Together they released a mix tape, a video, and performed at numerous showcases. Along the way, the duo met several artists and DJs. The most significant encounter was with Dj and producer M-Pyre from Ellensburg, WA. When T.S began his solo expedition in 2012, he reached out to M-Pyre P and was welcomed with open arms. M-Pyre sent T.S some beats to start his first project titled “Green Light Life”. The EP was released December 2012 and was promoted throughout 2013 with shows and music videos. Northwest blogs also contributed by giving the EP good reviews on their websites. These blogs also included M-Pyres very own blog and clothing line Respect My Region.
With the success of his first project, T.S continues to pour his life into his lyrics and is in the midst of making another project. A pair of twins, a back breaking nine to five, and everything else that comes with fatherhood won’t slow the young artist down but rather encourage him to do better. He continues to persevere and give music that is both inspirational and relatable. He has touched lives young and old with his first EP and plans on doing the same with the rest of his music. There is plenty more to come from The Solution.
La Fonda
La Fonda
La Fonda is a lyrically-driven, indie dream pop band defined by two sisters, singer-songwriters Veronica and Valerie Topacio. The band explores love, longing, and loss with smart, harmonically-rich vocals, reverberating, 60s surf-esque guitars, driving basslines, catchy melodies and 90s alt-rock nostalgia.

After years living on opposite sides of Washington, Veronica and Valerie took up residence in a Belltown apartment in spring 2015, two blocks from Pike Place Market. They spent the summer busking and reconnected with long-time friend and old roommate guitarist Jesse Cole. Singing in the living room with guitars was already a regular affair for the sisters—who had grown up in a musical household—and Cole’s blue wave guitar style mixed perfectly with their harmonies.

Noise complaints and the threat of eviction led the sisters to rent a nearby practice space just outside downtown Seattle. That same week, swiping right on Tinder led the sisters and Cole to their musical soulmate, bassist Bryan Dever. Soon after, Dever’s childhood friend Patrick Hodge (keys) joined the ensemble. United in musical comradery, La Fonda spent most of 2016 in the studio, where they recorded and produced their EP “Good Love” with head engineer Garrett Reynolds of Electrokitty Sound Studios in Wallingford, WA.

Nextnorthwest.com named their stand-out single “Seasons Change” as the song of the week, writing “Veronica and Valerie beautifully harmonize their vocals over lively drum beats and bright keys . . . you can tell that each member from the band brings a vital sound that allows them to produce such fun, catchy music.” Their debut EP aims to unveil the mysteries of love and attraction while questioning commitment with songs like “Staying True,” luring you in with lyrics that emphasize the interplay between moodiness and loyalty in relationships.

The group’s wistful seriousness is balanced by their fun, outgoing charm. La Fonda has made a reputation for themselves to bring the party wherever they go, enlivening venues with fan-favorites like their song “FOMO,” whose music video was premiered by IMPOSE magazine in spring 2017. Based in Seattle, the band built a presence playing in front of packed crowds at venues including Crocodile Café, Neumos, Chop Suey, and the Tractor Tavern. Their songwriting and surfy guitar riffs share the same pop-infused vein as Best Coast, Rilo Kiley and Japanese Breakfast. Having recently returned from a month-long tour in spring 2018 with stops in Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, San Francisco and Austin at SxSw, they also celebrate their latest release of the hit single, “In the Summer,” applauded by numerous indie blogs for its “beautifully harmonized vocals, rich instrumentation and enhancing layers of synths.” Excited to be working on their debut album this year, it’s their hope that their music continues to inspire people to show up fully in love as their most authentic, confident and beautifully vulnerable selves.

Marshall Law Band
Marshall Law Band
Marshall Law is a Seattle-based Funk-Hop band led by MC, Marshall Hugh and backed by a five piece instrument toting groove machine.

Marshall Law was founded in 2016 when they first collaborated on Marshall Hugh’s sample heavy solo album, ‘Mill Creek’. Loving the instrumental feel, Marshall enlisted the help of Evan, Josh, Matt, Marty, and Zack to headline shows at The Vera Project and the Pacific Science Center Laser Dome both in Seattle. The chemistry was evident, and the six musicians set out to create a one-of-a-kind Funk-Hop sound from scratch.

Although new to the scene under the moniker Marshall Law, each member of the band comes equipped with over 7 years of professional gigging and hundreds of live show experiences. The band has spent the last year executing a Hatchfund campaign, honing their sound, and researching their next project, ultimately landing on Nostos: A Hero’s Journey. Nostos is a performance piece in which each composition is based on classic literature and assigned a specific phase in Joseph Campbell's 'Making a Hero' model.

Marshall Law can be heard rocking all throughout the Northwest in 2018 and releasing singles along the way as they quietly work on their major debut LP.
